“To be a muse is to be a wonder in someone else’s eyes, flaws and all.”― L.H. Cosway

A muse is a “woman, or a force personified as a woman, who is the source of inspiration for a creative artist.” Right now, I am searching for a new muse. Here’s why…

Why? When reviewing cameras, lenses and lighting equipment for this blog, I want to work with women to pose for the kind of portraits that are regularly featured in this blog as illustrations that inform photographers about how to use the different kinds of equipment I’m testing.

  • Who? I prefer working with women from ages 21-45 and no experience is necessary. And while the ideal muse lives somewhere in or around Denver, Parker or Colorado Springs, Colorado, in the past I have photographed models who lived in Boulder, Greeley, Northern Colorado, Wyoming and even Utah. It all boils down to whatever travel situation a model is comfortable with.
  • What Does it Pay? All blog-related model shoots are made on a TF basis, that is to say trade. The model provides the poses, I provide her with the photographs on the day of the shoot. Models who pose for my any of my lighting workshops get a 50/50 split of all the fees collected. Because of the recent gas price insanity and depending on the model, I may be able provide a few buck for their gas.
  • TF shoots: At the end of each shoot, I will hand the model their choice of a CD or flash drive containing all of the images that were made during the session. These photographs may be used however the model likes including selling them or placing them on-line. This can be useful for women who have or would like to using Patreon, Bentbox or OnlyFans to make extra income. A limited amount of retouched images for social media will be provided upon request.

If that person is interested in pursuing modeling even as a part-time career, I’m glad to help them get started and will work with them to create a portfolio for them at no cost.

When & Where. Shoots are usually two hours long and are scheduled Monday through Friday during the day during typical business hours. For an exceptional model some Saturday mornings shoots may be possible. All photo sessions are held at my home studio that’s located in a nice and quiet neighborhood near Parker, Colorado.

If you have a friend or maybe yourself who would like to be a muse and have any questions or want to schedule an interview at a nearby Starbucks to discuss what’s involved with being a muse or would prefer just to do a test shoot, please click the Contact button or send me an e-mail at joefarace at gmail dot com
