Today’s Post by Joe Farace
Mary suggested to me that I write this post and so I did…
Just recently, I announced some new directions for the blog that will include a shift away from posts about portraiture, glamour and boudoir photography. This change also includes my writing posts about lighting techniques, equipment and how its used to create these kinds of images.
Replacing these kinds of posts will be more mainstream “photographic” style of images along with the behind-the-scenes stories about the cameras and lens I used for these images as well as digital darkroom techniques that were used to create them.
Some readers may like this new direction, some may not. To tell the truth, I’m not that crazy about it myself but I want this blog to reflect the kind of images I’m currently making, not ones that I would prefer to capture.
To that goal, sometime between now and the end of the year I plan to take down all of the gear in my in-home studio, turning it into just an empty room in my basement. Before that happens, however, I would like to have a few shoots with some of my former models and maybe women I haven’t photographed yet but who would like to try this kind of modelling and have some fun and get some great-looking images of themselves.
I have some interesting lighting techniques that I’d like to explore plus I want to shoot some studio images using film, so let’s work together to create something beautiful, interesting and fun! If you are interested in being involved in any of these final shoots in my home studio, please click the CONTACT button and let’s talk. If you prefer texting, include your phone number and I will text you back and lets open a dialog. Please join me in my studio’s final days to create something special.
And on a personal note: Although I have been gradually shifting the content of this blog in the directions I mentioned above and, in the future won’t post more content about portraiture, glamour or studio photography. But I plan tp keep putting these little postscripts at the bottom of posts in case anyone would like to buy one of my books.
Your purchase on Amazon from these links does not cost you any more and while any commissions are literally pennies, it is one of my few sources of income at this time. So if you purchase any of these books you have my gratitude. You can see many other models in my book Joe Farace’s Glamour Photography. Used copies are available for around ten bucks, as I write this, and Kindle copies are available for $19.99 for those preferring a digital format.
