Thursday Vibes: Slow Down Your Photography
One of the interesting side effects that Ive noticed about shooting film is that it has slowed down my photography. Once while I was traveling in Mexico with a well-know travel writer he told me, “I’ve never seen anybody shoot as many pictures as you.” And I am somewhat embarrassed, to admit that the advent of digital photography turned me into first a “shoot and scoot” photographer into a “spray and pray” shooter. But no more.

Tuesday Thoughts: Using Plug-Ins for Travel Photography
Although Adobe defined the standard, you don’t need Photoshop tin order to use plug-ins. Compatible plug-ins can be used with other kinds of image editing programs but not all plug-ins work with Photoshop Elements and some plug-ins are not compatible with all image editing software.
Monochrome Monday: Infrared in Aspen with a Fujifilm IS-1
What was really interesting about the Fujifilm IS-1 is that it could shoot in Infra-Red or Normal modes. The camera was sensitive to a broad range of light frequencies (400 – 900nm) covering the full range of visible light as well as the near infra-red range. Specific wavelengths can be isolated and captured from daylight or artificial light sources via filtering.
Business Sunday: Is the Grass Really Greener?
Even though I tossed around a few caveats here and there, I believe the grass is truly greener on the independent photographer side of the street, but you’ll have to fertilize, mow, and power rake from time to time.

Most remakes are not as successful as the original movies and some, like Lost Horizon (1973) that when compared to the 1937 version is so bad that Burt Bacharach and Hal David, who were long time contributors broke up and Bacharach retired from composing music. (Fortunately for us, he came back sans David, however.)
