Today’s Special Post by Joe Farace
I stand for freedom of expression, doing what you believe in, and going after your dream—Madonna Ciccone
Some time around April 24th, you may have seen a different kind of post, mostly on Thursdays, displayed on the splash page of this blog that was marked as “Password Protected” or maybe just “Protected” because WordPress keeps changing how it handles these kinds of posts. If you’ve been wondering what this type of post is all about and what it means to you as a reader, here’s the answer.
These posts are part of a special series of glamour and boudoir photography-oriented content that features images of some of the many beautiful models I have had the pleasure of working with over the past several years. These posts feature detailed descriptions of how these photographs were made including what it was like, behind-the-scenes for these shoots, along with complete details about the cameras and lighting equipment used to make the images you see. For readers who find this information to be useful, the actual EXIF-based exposure data for these photos will be displayed along with the specific lighting and studio equipment that was used to capture the postraits.
But that’s not all…
For the first time in this blog’s history, you will be able to see completely uncensored photographs of these models! I will also provide some perspective about how and why these images were created as some of the model shoots happened during the heyday of print magazines—with a twist. Few photographic print magazines survive today except for those that are part of organizations whose membership dues subsidize the publication along with a few fine art quarterlies. Some of these insights found in these posts may provide a look into why, while England and Japan support a variety of print photo magazines, the US does not.
What’s The Catch?
In order for readers of this blog to be able access the content of these Password Protected posts, only photographers who are members of the second ($2/50/month) or third tier ($5/month) of my Patreon will receive a unique password that will allow them access to the posts and be able to view the uncensored images and content. If you are not currently a subscriber, you can sign up now to access to all of the past as well as all future posts. If this program is somewhat successful, at some time in the future, I plan to include galleries of images that will allow these subscribers to view several images of the models from the shoots that are documented in the post.
It all depends on how well the response is to these posts. If nobody signs up to my Patreon’s top two tiers during the next few months, my plans are to stop uploading Password Protected posts but if I have just one subscriber, I’ll keep writing them as long as they are members. Either way, I want to thank you for all of your support over the years.
