Is Coffee & Cameras Coming Back Next Month?

by | Aug 22, 2024

Be An Angel Day is observed on August 22 each year and asks us to become someone’s angel—of sorts. Whether it’s a grand gesture (sponsoring someone’s education) or a small one (saying “thank you” when someone helps you), a nice gesture goes a long way towards sending goodwill out to the world. By supporting someone in need (or recalling someone who supported you), you celebrate the essence of this day. It’s in that spirit that today’s post was written…

Today’s Post by Joe Farace

“Coffee is a way of stealing time that should by rights belong to your older self.” – Terry Pratchett

One of the things that I’ve wanted to do for several years was to have regular meet and greet events over coffee or tea and be able to informally chat with readers of this blog and subscribers to my YouTube videos about photography, cars and movies. Before the pandemic, the first series of these one-hour Coffee & Cameras events was a minor success but afterwards not so much. As Summer begins to come to a close—Fall officially starts in exactly one month!—I’ve decided to give it another try.

When and Where

I wanted to pick a location that was convenient and located near a major highway and my choice is the Starbucks location at 9328 Jordan Rd, Parker, CO 80134, which is next to E-470. Their phone number is (720) 842-5165. The location is near a Loaf & Jug and across the street from a new QT gas station and they’ve been having a price war. So it might be a good place to “tank up” before or after the event. Let me know if you think Saturday mornings at 9:30 AM is still a good day and time for the event.

One change to the format is that I would like to bring along a guest who will have something to say about photography and be another resource for anyone who has questions about their own digital or film photographic efforts. Look for details about the date of the first Cameras & Coffee real soon now. Another change is that I would like everyone who is interested in attending to please RSVP via the Contact page and just say, “I’ll be there” or something like it. The event is free but if nobody’s attending, neither will I.

And if you have any other ideas let me know via the Contact page.

PS. Please bring one of your favorite cameras with you to Cameras & Coffee so we can share all our experiences when shooting with cameras that we love!
