“Best movie ever made? Nobody can answer that question!” My response to that viewer was “I think many people would answer the question. It’s just that they would all have different answers…” And then I got to thinking, maybe I’ll try to answer that question, so here goes…

In my post Some Recent Trends in Portrait Photography I wrote about the not understandable (by me anyway) trend to create underexposed images and post them on social media.

There was a time when I went through a phase where I asked models to brings a corset to shoots. And I even tried to include a shot with a model wearing a corset for each shoot I did as well as the lighting equipment reviews I wrote for the former print edition of Shutterbug.

Based on the anecdotal evidence I was hearing from friends and colleagues about the state of the business of wedding photography and how the pandemic affected it, I Googled “business of wedding photography” and got 386,000,000 hits.

OK, riddle me this: Why do all of the mystery novels that I’ve ever read treat photographers so badly? If a character sows up in a book and is a photographer, he’s either sleazy or dead—because he was sleazy.
