Inspired by Canadian photographer Don Komarechka I decided to try some macro photography and if you are not already familiar with photography’s Mr. Wizard, plrase check out his website.

I was recently censored, banned, given the ban hammer by Instagram and one of the offending photographs is show below left. What I found most interesting about this images that just a week or so before being banned, I received an email from them telling me that this very images was “Your Post with the most accounts engaged.”

Elephants are running out of space and time. We have to work together to prevent senseless poaching and the trafficking of ivory, and establish protected natural sanctuaries in which elephants and other wildlife can thrive — before it’s too late and they’re all gone.

There are lots of ways to add color to your infrared photographs starting with two approaches: You can add color to your IR images at the time of capture or later in the digital darkroom.

I urge you to visit your local library and see if they have any books by Harry Callahan. You can pick up some of his books on Amazon, such as Harry Callahan: The Photographer at Work or my personal favorite Harry Callahan: Color, 1941-1980, But there’s several others as well. Read them and like me become inspired.
