A Reminder: May is National Zombie Awareness Month. Each May, Zombie Awareness Month brings excitement, reminding us to stay prepared while embracing a touch of spooky fun. Running from May 1st to May 31st, this period is marked by fans wearing gray ribbons to promote readiness for a possible zombie apocalypse​​.

A few years ago, I conducted a workshop at the FOTOfusion conference in Florida called “Right in Your Own Backyard.” The presentation and the images that I showed were based on the premise that you needn’t travel halfway around the world when great photo ops are seemingly closer to home.

I always enjoy hearing from readers, especially those that have questions about photography, this blog or whatever else may be on your mind. I always answer them right away but some questions have a more general theme so I thought I would compile a few of the latter type for today’s post.

The above quote says a lot about video streaming services and my own movie watching habits but think that lately I may have been watching more movies, via DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD than reading books. So maybe that has a bearing on my book reading habits. But after a low start for the year my book reading pace has picked up a bit…
