Today’s post is a reminder, in case you missed my post, Some Special Posts for Patreon Subscribers, that has information about some of the new benefits for my Patreon subscribers. There is a more-than-likely chance that this series may be coming to an end shortly, here are more details…
Today’s Special Post by Joe Farace
Censorship is the tool of those who have the need to hide actualities from themselves and from others. Their fear is only their inability to face what is real, and I can’t vent any anger against them; I only feel this appalling sadness. Somewhere in their upbringing, they were shielded against the total facts of our existence. —Charles Bukowski
In the USA, these days few photographic print magazines have survived. the pandemic and events leading up to it. Those that did make it are limited to a few fine art quarterlies along with those magazines that are produced by photographic organizations whose member dues subsidize the books.
Several months ago I began a series of uncensored ports about working with models who I’d been photographing over the years. Beginning on April 24, these special posts were usually uploaded on Thursdays and displayed on the main page as “Password Protected” or maybe just “Protected” because WordPress keeps changing the way it handles these kinds of posts. Occasionally there were Bonus posts that had to do with special occasions or national days, such as the upcoming post related to National Kissing Day.
What is a Password Protected Post?
What all this means for you is that during these special Password Protected posts, I’ll take you “behind the pages” into some of my photograph experiences that happened when I was writing about and creating glamour images for print magazines. Some of these insights you’ll find in these Password Protected posts provide a look into why, while England and Japan support a vibrant, wide variety of print photo magazines, the US does not.
The biggest change in the content of these posts is, for the first time in this blog’s history, you will see completely uncensored photographs of the many different models I’ve photographed. These posts will also include some of my thoughts and opinions about why images of these women were censored in the first place (and by whom) along with some insights into what working with these talented models was like. I think you’ll find a surprise or two.
In order for you to be able to view the content of these Password Protected posts, you will need to be members of the second ($2.50/month) or third tier ($5/month) of my Patreon. In return you will receive a unique password giving you access to these protected posts allowing you to view the uncensored images and content. If you are not currently a subscriber, you can sign up now to get access to all of the past and future protected posts. This is the only way that I can publish uncensored image without being punished by the nanny software that’s used by many companies (and individuals) as well as by Google rankings.
In the future, and if this program is even somewhat successful, I plan to include galleries where subscribers will be able to view many different images from these model shoots instead of just one or two featured in the post. Adding this feature, depends on the response to these posts. Keep in mind that Patreon subscriptions may be canceled at any time so if you don’t like any of these posts, you can quit and your unique password will be disabled.
If nobody signed up to my Patreon’s top two tiers during the next month, my plans were to stop uploading Password Protected posts but if I have just one subscriber, I’ll keep writing for them as long as they are members. Either way, I want to thank you for all of your support over the years.
