I’m just an average Joe who’s passionate about photography and likes to share what I’ve learned over the years with others. Over the past 25 year I’ve published 34 books and more than 2000 magazine stories. Along the way, I was named Contributing Photographer and Writer for Shutterbug and an Editor Emeritus of eDigitalPhoto magazines.
In addition to this blog, please follow me on Twitter where you’ll find daily tweets with photo tips for this blog and from lots of other places around the Web. Friend me on Facebook and you’ll get a few insights on what’s going on in my life, some photo fun, and a peek at other stuff that I’m interested in such as movies and cars. If you like cars, you can see my car photography and read a related blog at JoeFaraceShootsCars.com.
I’m in the middle of writing a series of books about lighting and glamour photography and the first book in the series entitled, “Joe Farace’s Glamour Photography,” is now available and the second, “Studio Lighting Anywhere” was recently published. Look for Book 3—on Available Light Glamour Photography sometime in 2012. Information on these books can be found in the My Books section of this blog.
Over the years, organizations have been kind enough to present me with awards such as the Photographic Craftsman’s degree presented by the Professional Photographers of America as well Honorary Membership from the Independent Photographers of Colorado presented for “dedication and services to the photographic community”
From time to time, I conduct photography workshops around the country, maybe even near where you live. More details can be found in the Workshops section of this blog.
Things you might not know about me: I’m an avid collector of Lionel and K-Line models trains, old and unique cameras, as well as anything related to Snoopy and the Peanuts gang.
