I’m just an average Joe who’s passionate about photography and wants to share what I’ve learned over the years with others. Over the past 25 year I’ve published 34 books and more than 2000 magazine stories. Along the way, I was named Contributing Photographer/Writer for Shutterbug and am Editor Emeritus of eDigitalPhoto magazines.
In addition to this website, please visit my blog and follow me on Twitter where you’ll find daily photo tips from around the Web. Friend me on Facebook and you’ll also get insight on what’s going on in my personal life and peeks at other stuff I’m interested in. If you like cars, you can see my car photography and read a related blog at JoeFaraceShootsCars.com.
I’ve written a series of books about lighting and glamour photography: “Joe Farace’s Glamour Photography,” “Studio Lighting Anywhere” and Available Light Glamour Photography was followed by the recently released “Posing for Portrait & Glamour Photography.” Click those links to purchase a copy. Information about them can be found in the Books section of this site.
Over the years, I’ve been presented with awards such as the Photographic Craftsman’s degree from the Professional Photographers of America as well making presentations at national and state PPA conventions in Oregon, Utah, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Honorary Membership was awarded by the Independent Photographers of Colorado for “dedication and services to the photographic community”
I’ve also conducted workshops in California, Florida, and New Mexico for Shutterbug and Popular Photography magazines as well as for FOTOfusion and the Palm Beach Photographic Center as well as workshops for the New England Council of Camera Clubs’ annual event in Amherst, MA. More information about workshops can be found here.
Things you might not know about me: I’m an avid collector of Lionel and K-Line model trains, old and unique cameras, as well as anything related to Snoopy and the Peanuts gang.
